As you know, Audubon of Florida made Florida Forever funding a priority for the 2006 Legislative Session. We are working on this with a coalition of many other conservation groups. Eric Draper is part of the steering committee for the coalition and drafted the attached letters sent by the coalition to Governor Charlie Crist and to Senate President Ken Pruitt. A similar letter was sent to House Speaker Marco Rubio.
I hope you will find the arguments presented in these letters compelling. Accelerating the funding from Florida Forever is crucial to preserving vital habitats around the state. If you have a moment to reinforce these messages either with the Governor or with the legislators, your efforts will help make a difference.
